How we calculate, line by line
This page exists because how you calculate matters as much as the rate you advertise. Two agencies can both announce 20 % and charge you three times apart. Here is ours, with the numbers.
The rule in one sentence
The commission never applies to your total revenue, only to the portion above a threshold. Each bracket has its own rate, and crossing a threshold changes nothing below it.
Commission = 20 % × (portion between S1 and S2) + 25 % × (portion above S2)
Examples below use the simulator defaults: S1 = €500, S2 = €1,000, 20 % then 25 %. Your thresholds are set with you before signing and may differ.

Monthly net revenue, once the platform commission has already been deducted.
| Net revenue | Calculation | Commission | You keep | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| €400 | Below the S1 threshold: nothing is due | €0 | €400 | 0 % |
| €500 | Exactly at the threshold: still nothing | €0 | €500 | 0 % |
| €501 | 20 % × €1 | €0.20 | €500.80 | 0.04 % |
| €800 | 20 % × (800 − 500) | €60 | €740 | 7.5 % |
| €1,000 | 20 % × 500 | €100 | €900 | 10 % |
| €1,500 | 20 % × 500 + 25 % × 500 | €225 | €1,275 | 15 % |
| €5,000 | 20 % × 500 + 25 % × 4,000 | €1,100 | €3,900 | 22 % |
The effective rate is the commission relative to total revenue. It rises gradually and always stays below the rate of the highest bracket.
Crossing a threshold never costs you a jump
This is the classic trap of badly designed tier grids: earning one more euro tips your whole revenue into a higher bracket. Not here. At €501 net you owe 20 cents, not €100. Bracket calculation guarantees that an extra euro earned always brings in more than it costs.
Compared with a flat percentage
Many agencies advertise a single rate applied to the whole amount. At the same advertised rate, the gap is clear.
| Net revenue | Agency at flat 20 % | Here | Difference in your favour |
|---|---|---|---|
| €400 | €80 | €0 | €80 |
| €800 | €160 | €60 | €100 |
| €1,500 | €300 | €225 | €75 |
| €5,000 | €1,000 | €1,100 | −€100 |
At very high revenue, the 25 % bracket eventually exceeds a flat 20 %. We would rather write it than hide it: the model is designed to cost you as little as possible at the start and during the climb, not to be the cheapest at every level. The Prime rate is negotiated precisely at that point.
What counts, and what does not
Counts: net revenue from the accounts and content the agency supports, once the platform commission is deducted.
Does not count: revenue earned before signing, accounts and content outside the scope, direct gifts off-platform, and anything you produce without the agency.
The scope is written into the contract. If a revenue source is ever in doubt, the rule is simple: if the agency did not help you with it, the agency does not earn on it.
